The Construction of Fixed Implant Prosthesis Using Laser Welded Titanium Frameworks For Fully Edentulous Patient

Abstract
The frameworks cast in precious or semiprecious alloys have been used for prosthetic superstructure of the osseointegrated fixture. Unalloyed Cp Ti used in dental implant can be used for the metallic parts of the prosthetic superstructure placed
on
the
fixtures and the biocompatible materials have less risks of hard and soft tissue complications.
Recently laser welding technique combined with spark erosion made it possible to produce unalloyed Ti superstructure, crowns and bridges. This paper describes alternative laboratory techniques in which premachined titanium components are welded
together
to form the frameworks.
The fit of the frameworks to the abutments is of both the restoration and implant fixtures and this technique provides a way to ensure the passive fit of the frameworks and more simplified laboratory technique without requiring casting and
soldering
procedure.
But the prosthesis are thought to be slightly bulkier than cast frameworks and the fatigue fracture should be studied for longer time periods.
